Hockley Woods

Ancient deciduous woodland spanning over 320 acres.

 

Plumberow Mount

This is a burial mound, it is around 14 feet high and 76 feet wide with a flattened top. It was excavated in 1913 but very little was found.

 

Hockley Spa

Originated in 1838 when Robert Clay found a medical spring. In 1842 a Spa building was built around it by John Lockyer.

Opened in 1889 this line runs from London Liverpool Street to Southend. It is 36 miles long and the approximate travel time from Hockley to Liverpool Street is 46 minutes.
